About
I'm Fatemeh Farajmandi, a Senior Product Designer based in Chicago. I'm all about fusing art with function. Whether it's admiring gallery pieces, sleek architecture, or modern interiors, I find inspiration everywhere and bring that creative spark to my designs.
My journey in the design world has been an exciting adventure filled with innovation and collaboration. Currently, I'm working at Farmers Business Network, where I lead the design efforts on the shop side. From conceptualization to execution, I've spearheaded various projects and tools for the FBN website and app, leveraging user research insights to create intuitive experiences. Establishing and curating the Shop Design Library has been one of my recent endeavors, aiming to enhance consistency and streamline our design process.
Prior to this, I played a pivotal role as a Senior Product Designer at Early Warning System, focusing on revolutionizing the P2P payments landscape with Zelle®. Leading the UX design efforts for more than 4 years, I've been instrumental in shaping the Zelle platform, working on both major product initiatives and smaller enhancements to elevate the overall user experience.
My journey began at Cisco, where I immersed myself in the realm of Cloud & Mobile Collaboration. As a Sr. UX designer, I crafted seamless flow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes for various features spanning content sharing, meetings, and marketplace integrations. Collaborating closely with product managers and engineers, I ensured a harmonious translation of design concepts into tangible products across multiple platforms and devices.
Before Cisco, I honed my skills as a Senior Visual Designer at Mindjet, where I infused creativity into desktop, web, tablet, and mobile experiences. Crafting engaging and innovative user journeys, I established a cohesive visual language across the product line, leaving no detail overlooked.
My global journey began in the vibrant city of Paris, where I served as an art director & designer at Roche. Steering the design and quality control of global websites catering to diverse cultures, I thrived on the dynamic interaction with customers, project managers, and internal/external design agencies, ensuring seamless communication of requirements.
Outside the design realm, you'll find me capturing moments through my lens for my personal photo blog, "Looking With…"—a reflection of my appreciation for the beauty in everyday life.
With a blend of artistic flair and technical expertise, I strive to create experiences that resonate with users on a deeper level, leaving a lasting impact in the ever-evolving landscape of digital design.
Education& Interest:
Born and raised in the vibrant coastal town of Bandar Lengeh, Iran, I embarked on a journey of exploration and learning that has taken me across various cities and continents. Upon completing high school, I relocated to Shiraz, Iran, to pursue a degree in Software Engineering at Azad University, laying the foundation for my career in technology and design.
After obtaining my bachelor's degree, I ventured to Tehran, where I immersed myself in the world of Graphics & Multimedia Design, honing my skills and expanding my creative horizons. Seeking further academic enrichment, I journeyed to Montbéliard, France, where I delved into the realm of digital art and multimedia, earning a Master's degree in Produits et Services Multimedia (PSM) from the University of Franche-Comté.
My passion for exploration extends beyond academia and into the fabric of my everyday life. I have had the privilege of living in dynamic metropolises like Shiraz, Tehran, Paris, San Francisco, and currently, Chicago. Embracing the diversity of each city, I've cultivated a deep appreciation for the unique experiences and opportunities that come with adapting to new environments.
I firmly believe that life is an adventure meant to be savored, and I seize every opportunity to embrace new challenges and experiences. While relocating has presented its fair share of challenges, the rewards have been immeasurable. The thrill of starting anew in a different city, exploring its streets, and connecting with its people is an exhilarating journey that continues to shape my perspective and fuel my creativity.
